"Предизвикателствата пред Европа - растеж и конкуретноспособност"
The International Conference "CHALLENGES OF EUROPE " is a biennial conference, held in late May in beautiful spots and resorts along the Dalmatian coastline.
The conference is organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Split, Croatia, under the auspices of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr Ivo Josipović, and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
The Conference was initiated under the title of "Enterprise in Transition". During its first fourteen years, the Conference gathered over 1,100 authors from more than 45 countries all over the world. These authors contributed over 900 papers to the Conference proceedings.
In 2009 The Conference has made the transition into the "Challenges of Europe". It aims to put into the focus the European economy and its role and importance within the global community. It investigates Europe as a challenging global player but also as a system in development facing various challenges.
Features of the Conference include plenary sessions with addresses by invited speakers, presentation of papers and working papers, panels, and other special invited sessions. The Conference also presents awards for young scholars, given to the best PhD and MSc theses defended in the period between the two conferences.
Besides its undoubted scientific importance as a regional economic forum, the Conference has been recognized as a meeting place of scholars and practitioners from different countries, cultures and backgrounds. Considering the participants above all as friends and colleagues, the organizers have always made great and joyous efforts to make the Conference not only a scientific but also a pleasant encounter. It is no wonder, then, that a large number of participants repeatedly attend the Conference, promoting it everywhere as a distinguished "Conference of Soul".
