Ten Ph.D. candidate positions in the humanities and social sciences at the Baltic and East European Graduate School

The Baltic and East European Graduate School (BEEGS) is located at the Flemingsberg campus (University College), Stockholm, Sweden.
The focus of the research activities of BEEGS is on the Baltic and East European area. Since the Ph.D. students come from about 20 different countries, the language of communication is English. Thus, a thorough knowledge in written as well as spoken English is required.
BEEGS is part of the Center for Baltic and East European Studies, CBEES, which coordinates Baltic and East European research, organizes conferences and seminars and hosts guest researchers. It is financed by the Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies.
All doctoral students will have a four-year full-time employed doctoral position.
The employment will be effective February 1, 2007.
The Graduate School is a cooperative venture between the University of Stockholm, and other Swedish universities.
The University College places special emphasis on studies concerning such themes as Democracy and Welfare; Culture, Ethnicity and National identity; Internationalization and the Organization of Society; Society and Ecosystems, Educational science and Civic education.
This year we welcome applications in Ethnology, History, Literature, Political Science, Rethorics, Studies of Religions.

The application must include three copies of:
1. A completed and signed application form.
2. A statement of your intended Ph.D. research plan, about five-six pages (max. 14.000 characters with spaces/2000 words) in English.
3. Certified transcripts in English or Swedish of previous undergraduate and graduate studies, with grade-point averages.
4. Your Curriculum Vitae.
5. Your academic theses/essays and other relevant scientific publications.
Applications which do not contain all information requested or which are not submitted in three complete copies will be disregarded. Applications received after the closing date will be disregarded.
Please note that one complete copy of the application will be filed at S�dert�rns h�gskola for two years, in line with the instructions from the Swedish National Archives.
